Collective Disdain
Collective Disdain is a three-piece straightedge hardcore punk band based in Manhattan, New York. Frontwoman Ladybird projects feminist chain punk and class consciousness themes in her lyricism. Her vocal style is heavily influenced by female power vocalists from groups like Jivebomb and Scowl. She is deeply connected to her local scene and its prominent DIY culture. She is joined by her closest friends to collaborate in the studio and on stage. Her greatest musical influences are Trapped Under Ice, Madball, and Cro-Mags.
Ladybird claims her spot on stage with an explosive presence and gritty lyricism. She believes that punk originated as an inclusive space and should remain that way—expanding to include more female musicians. Collective Disdain anticipates the release of their debut album “United Hates of America” this summer with Memento Mori Records.
